I have a lot of new mashups this month, including the new digital CD: Super Mashup Land by Dr. Waumiau. In addition to the industrial mashups that I always try to collect for y'all, I've got M.I.A., The Chemical Brothers, Lady Sovereign, The Prodigy, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, Limp Bizkit, Stardust, Snoop Dogg, 20 Fingers, Nelly Furtado, Dr.Dre and many more. Come the hell on out, drink, heckle, and dance your ass off for the DJs!

08:03 pm - mash up artist for hire?

Here’s the dish
I am a comedic burlesque performer looking to find someone who can mash up a silly track I want to perform to. The song is a bit on the short side (1:54) but every ounce of it is golden. I was thinking it would be great to mash it up with some classic bump and grind burlesque music to elongate it to 4 or 5 minutes and give it just a bit more umph. I can supply you with all the music.
I can offer you pay (please tell me your rates) and a video of my performance to your work that you can use for promotional purposes.
Does this sound like something you would be into? Do you have any interest/familiarity with bumpy and grindy music? I will need to do a striptease to the song, so I can supply you with vague choreography if that helps. Ideally I would like to find someone who I collaborate well with so we can do projects like this again in the future.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you

05:21 pm - Nobody Hurt My Lovely Toy

Whatsup-

Alright, so I'm still a slacker. Yep. I made this mashup in three hours one afternoon over two months ago. And, I've been meaning to clean it up, add Blur's "Boys & Girls," and try to incorporate Peaches "Boys Wanna Be Her." But... I haven't. I guess I've just been too busy, you know, with moving and all. So since I have already played it out once, (and people seemed to enjoy it) I might as well just post it. So, here it is, "NOBODY HURT MY LOVELY TOY." It includes We Are Scientists' "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" and David Carretta's "Lovely Toy." As always any comments are appreciated.

07:31 pm - Pessimism Kills

Hi Kids. Do you like violence? Do want to see me stick Nine Inch Nails through each one of my eyelids? -

First off, sorry about that. For some reason I just couldn't resist. Anyway, I'm 'The Pessimist,' Humboldt County's only mash-up DJ. And I've been slacking. Yeah, but besides that. I finally got an LJ account, and once I noticed the mash-up community, I figured I should post a few mash-ups I made last year. (See? I told you I've been slacking.) None the less, I'd love to get some feedback. Oh, and there are new tracks in the works, but I've been really busy the last six months (if you care, read my personal livejournal posts, then you'll understand). So look forward to my upcoming mashup "Nobody Hurt My Lovely Girl/Boy Toy," which includes We Are Scientists, David Carretta, Blur, and (probably) Peaches.

But while you wait, checkout these mash-ups (in reverse order of release)-

-- Not For Abwehr (Pearl Jam vs Black Strobe)

-- America Needs War (Fischerspooner vs The Crystal Method)

-- South Park of Whatever (Liam Lynch vs South Park)

-- Morrison's Rockin' Slaves (Daft Punk vs Jim Morrison)

And a few bonuses-

- an unconventionally positive mash-up made for a (now ex-) girlfriend -- Valley of the Guava QT (M.I.A. vs Mylo vs Bob Marley)

- my first remix - made using Ableton Live -- Nine Inch Nails - Only (The Pessimist's Remix)

- my first original production - made using a friend's sampler -- never fully realized (needs proper EQing and vocals) - The Pessimist - Moody

Enjoy-
Jami
